Zeta Psi, Sigma Chi To Compete
Friday For High Point Grid Crown

High Point football competition
rolled into its final stages Monday
afternoon as six consolation games
highlighted IM action. The championship
games are scheduled for
Friday as a prelude to the frantic
weekend and the even more frenzied
Varsity game against Wake
Forest.

SAE got things rolling against
KA by swamping them 54-26. Kent
Wunderlich scored twice for the
winners, as did Will Cutchins and
Bill Psillas. The SAE's went on to
win again that afternoon, blanking
Phi Delt 7-0. Dennis Pushkin tallied
both the touchdowns and the extra
point.

Before falling to Pushkin and
the Grady Avenue gang, the Phi
Delt's edged the Beta House 13-6,
with Pete Eldridge scoring both.

Sigma Nu beat Phi Kap in
overtime on yardage in a scoreless
game that lasted close to two hours.
Chi Phi out-lasted Theta Chi 25-12.

In a protested game Zeta Psi
rocked undefeated Pi Kap 18-6. It
appears that the Zetes will repeat
last year's championship finish this
Friday.

Finally, Sigma Chi downed ATO
30-20 to nail down their bid to
Friday's finals

IM tennis is one step away from
the quarterfinals with 15 men still
in contention. Phi Kap and St.
Anthony's have the most remaining
contestants with 4 and 3, respectively.

The number one seed, Stokes
Grymes of Phi Kappa Sigma, has
yet to meet DKE's John Pinder and
the number two seed, St. A's Dave
Turner, still has to play Dick
Carrington of Phi Kap to reach the
semis. In fact Phi Gam's Alec
Knowles, by virtue of defeating
Sigma Chi's John Glenn, is the only
individual to have gained the semis
so far.

In other games Chi Phi's Buzz
Rooney meets Tom Sansonetti of
KA and Herb Beskin of AEP
confronts George Wallace of Beta.
Billy Preston of Phi Kap meets
Barber Rixey of St. A's and The
Hall's Hal Jones plays Larry
Williams of SAE. The final game
pits Phi Kap's Bill Parrish and Phi
Gam's Peter Drake.
